Pinch me please! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d have a bedroom like this! First, we got a KING size bed. Which is huge, almost too huge. Second, what a beautiful accent wall we made!!! Well….. Jared made and I white washed of course!
As you can see from our before pic it was a major upgrade! … Like MAJOR. Don’t make fun of my battery operated candles! Trying to keep the romance after 8 years of marriage ok!
We fell in LOVE with our new bed and really wanted to do something different to the wall. We ended up getting barn wood shiplap from Home Depot and of course it wasn’t white enough so we bought a white stain and white washed it! We gave it two coats.
BUT FIRST. We had to do some math! That took awhile! We measured the wall and then cut the pieces down to make the pattern, then painted, then hung. Jared used finishing nails to mount them to the wall. It really wasn’t that hard, just the math is very important.
Our night stands…. we fell in love with these when we picked out our bed. They are from the Magnolia Homes Collection! I think those two pieces are the only items I own from them in my whole house. When we brought them home they were of course way to short and way to cream, so Jared made stands for them to look more even with the HUGE bed, then of course… I painted them white.
The TV stand was a piece we had in our first home in the basement. It was the perfect for that wall, but it was a very dark grey. So I used the left over white stain to brighten it up! Now it matches our accent wall! So Fresh & So Clean!!
Body Length Mirror: From Kirklands and of course I pained it white.
The bedding was fun to buy! I went through a company called Crane & Canopy. I was disappointed when I got the items because they looks white on the website, but they are actually off white! Noooooooo! Sorry. They said it’s because they don’t use harsh bleach in their products. I GET IT, but I need WHITE. So, I returned them, but kept the pillows and duvet! I ended up getting the pillow cases, sheets and duvet cover from Bed Bath and Beyond.
#sorrynotsorry for not moving our platform bed to paint the wall charcoal grey! Oops!
